John "Jake" Akoury, CFP®, MBA, CLTC, AAMS
Managing Director & Training
Having served in the military for 25 years, I have made it my mission to serve those who currently serve (or have served) our country as well as those friends, family members, and business owners who support those who serve. Specializing in financial protection maximization and wealth accumulation strategies, I advise my clients in several different areas, including efficient wealth accumulation for retirement, estate planning, investment/risk management, and business / executive-level strategies.
As a public servant, be it military, municipal, or civil service, you have several unique planning opportunities available to you. From your Pension to your Thrift Savings Plan to your 457-Plan, I provide guidance and strategies so you can make intelligent decisions regarding the effective and efficient use of your money. By focusing on strategy first, I strive to increase the effectiveness of the plan we build together which, in turn, provides you with the best opportunity to save for financial success.
Having made my home on the North Shore, I enjoy spending time with my family as well as giving back to my community as well as my country. I do this through volunteering my time on my children’s sports teams, and I love to give back to my local church and veteran’s organizations.
Not only am I involved in my community, but I am also actively involved in the financial services world. In addition to earning my Certified Financial Planner [CFP®] designation, I earned my MBA in Finance and Accounting/Taxation, with a specialization in Personal Financial Planning, from Fordham University as well as my Certification in Long Term Care and Accredited Asset Management Specialist designations. Additionally, I am an Adjunct Professor at Boston University*, leading their Financial Risk Management course of instruction.
